Homemade Masks and Some Hair Care Advice

Hair care begins with basic things. Since childhood, we have been taught to wash our hair, use shampoo and conditioner. Then we discover the world of hair dryers, flat irons, forceps and hairbrushes. And only after some time we start to think what really have benefits and gives beauty to our hair.

Hair washing
Depending on the natural structure of hair and external factors, different people have different hair type. Someone has to wash their hair every day, and someone has a “fresh styling” for a week. Therefore, it is important to choose the right hair care taking into account the hair type. If you wash your hair every 3-4 days, and hair retains freshness, does not lose volume and does not become oily, you should not switch to more frequent washing of hair – in this case, because it can lead to increased dryness of a scalp. On the other hand, oily hair needs to be washed every day, since shampoo removes excess sebum and dirt and prevent appearing of dandruff and scalp problems.

Use warm water to wash your head: hot water can cause intense work of the sebaceous glands. When finishing washing, the ends of the hair should be rinsed with cool water. It helps the hair scales to close. This means that the hair after washing will become more shiny and smooth.

After using a shampoo, apply an appropriate conditioner on hair so it will be better combed. Do not forget that applying a conditioner to roots can lead to a rapid loss of hair volume, especially if it is thin.

Homemade masks for hair
There are many natural components that perfectly care for hair. We have selected three variants of the most simple and effective “homemade” masks, the action of which is aimed to prevent some hair problems: hair loss, dandruff, dryness.

Pepper hair oil. Perhaps the most popular way to care for hair at home is to use oil masks based on a red pepper. This mask effectively stimulates hair growth.

The receipt of this mask is very simple. Take high-quality olive oil (virgin olive oil or extra-virgin olive oil), a small red pepper, a clean glass bottle. Finely chop the pepper, place in a bottle, fill with oil and leave to infuse for 2-3 weeks in a dark cool place, but not in the refrigerator. The necessary amount of oil is determined experimentally (usually from 100 to 250 ml), and if the composition is too “hot”, you can add a little warm olive oil immediately before using it.

Apply the mask to the scalp, cover it with a film and wait for 1-2 hours. Then wash it off with a shampoo.

Mask with castor oil will help to get rid of dandruff quickly. Apply oil to the scalp, wrap your hair with a film and a towel and wait from 30 minutes to one and a half hours, then wash it off with a shampoo.

You can also prepare a home remedy based on castor oil. The composition includes 1 tbsp. of castor oil, 1 tbsp. of finely chopped onions, 2 tbsp. of vodka. Vodka is necessary for disinfection and stimulation of blood circulation, which enhances the effect of other components. Apply the mask to the scalp, wash it off in an hour with a shampoo.
